Overcome your past breastfeeding challenges. You can write a different story! Let us help.
Breastfeeding help, peace of mind! Barbara Robertson is the owner of The Breastfeeding Center of Ann Arbor and knows what it's like to be struggling with breastfeeding. In 2008 Barbara decided to open The Breastfeeding Center of Ann Arbor so mothers could get their questions answered and problems solved. Listen to her story here.
Barbara is often the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or yes, even 5th, lactation consultant people have reached out to. But what a difference she can make! Treating people with kindness and respect, really listening to them, sharing with them the most accurate, up to date lactation research, and then helping create a plan customized to a family's breastfeeding issues and goals are the cornerstones of Barbara's practice. Making sure there is plenty of time (1-1.5 hours depending on the type of consultation) so that no one feels rushed and all the questions a family has get answered is an important difference as well.
Barbara has more than 21 years of experience working with mothers and babies to help them resolve breastfeeding issues. She is a current International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2004 and has over 30 years of teaching experience to all ages, newborn to adult. You don't have to do it alone. Let Barbara make breastfeeding easier for you.
Come and meet other women who are breastfeeding their babies! We believe in giving back to our community so we offer this free drop-in group focusing on supporting breastfeeding mothers. We provide a time and space for mothers to come and be with their babies and meet other breastfeeding mothers. Have a cup of tea, relax, and chat with others about what’s on your mind. Support staff is available to answer any breastfeeding questions with accurate, up-to-date information. Moms and babies can come for as many weeks as they need. Free support groups were important to our breastfeeding success so for over 11 years we have offered this weekly service.
One caveat: This is not a place to solve big breastfeeding problems. If you are having a lot of breastfeeding issues, your situation may warrant an individual breastfeeding consult.
