I totally agree as well...I am a first time Mom and preferred to Breast feed my daughter. I enjoy knowing that she is receiving nutritions straight from me (just as she did in the womb). I returned to work during her third month of life and have been pumping to provide her with what she needs.
I believe that motherhood is a wonderful experience and having her makes me realize how special life is!!!

[...] Breastfeeding one baby can be challenging enough! With more babies, you may need more support. We know it can be hard to get together with all of those babies and car seats. Well, we have a great space for this. Come and meet other breastfeeding mothers who are nursing more then one baby. Or working on it. It doesn’t have to be perfect yet. Have a cup of tea, relax, and chat with others about what’s on your mind. Support staff is available to answer any breastfeeding questions with accurate, up-to-date information. Moms and babies can come for as many weeks as they need. One caviat: This is not a place to solve big breastfeeding problems. If you are having a lot of breastfeeding issues, your situation may warrant an individual breastfeeding consult. [...]

What surprises me is the amount of moms who don't even try. Do they not know all the benefits?? The health and money benefits aside, I felt like it was my own special time to bond with my baby, no one could take that time away and it was so precious. Still is! :)

Thanks for blogging, Barbara! I enjoyed reading the statistics on breastfeeding sustainability rates in MICHIGAN. I think it's a cultural/work thing. I think about having a 2nd child and trying to pump at work...= stressful! But I'm so happy and pleased that I did do it.
Samuel is doing well- I feel like my milk supply is decreasing but he is almost 1 year old and 25-26 lbs!
